EMERYVILLE– On November 16, 2025, California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents and Emeryville Police Department officers arrested three suspects for furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors. The law enforcement officers conducted a shoulder tap operation in Emeryville.
The operation was designed to educate the public and cite those who purchased alcohol for an underage decoy who stood in front of a liquor store and asked patrons to purchase alcohol for them.
If an adult agrees to purchase alcohol for the underage person, the adult can be arrested and cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. The penalty for furnishing alcohol to a minor is a minimum $1,000 fine and 24 hours of community service.
“We can all do our part to keep our roads, our neighborhoods, and our young people safe by denying them access to alcoholic beverages. Let’s be the solution and not add to a problem that puts people in harm’s way. ABC agents work throughout the state conducting these operations which contributes to public safety,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.
