OROVILLE – In an effort to introduce the California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) and the Association of Wildlife Officers of California (ACWO) to California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) warden cadets, CSLEA Chief Counsel Kasey Clark and ACWO President Trevor Pell conducted a new employee orientation at the CDFW Academy in Butte County on January 9, 2026. Also in attendance were CSLEA Membership Services Representative Marco Castro and ACWO Acting Vice President Max Roland.
The 44 cadets in attendance heard presentations about union representation and the CSLEA $3 million Legal Defense Fund. In addition, CSLEA’s benefits and services were discussed, along with additional benefits and services that CSLEA peace officer-members have with membership to PORAC.
“Today 39 CDFW cadets recognized the importance of union membership and having access to an attorney and CSLEA’s proven Legal Defense Fund,” said Pell. “ACWO was happy to provide lunch to all in attendance. We wish all the cadets the very best as they navigate through months of training and stand ready to assist our members. Thank you to all for meeting with us.”
