During the month of May 2026, CHP-Public Safety Dispatchers Association (CHP-PSDA) Coastal Division Director Chris Matthews, conducted site visits at the San Luis Obispo and Monterey CHP Communication Centers.
“It was a great opportunity to meet with our members and our site reps to hear concerns at their individual centers, and work through options and strategies to address them,” said Matthews. “I was also able to provide members with union information, as well as applications for the CSLEA and CHP-PSDA scholarships. Most importantly I was able to thank our members for their hard work and dedication in enhancing public safety by providing excellent service to the public on 911 and being the vital link to the CHP officers in the field.”
During his visits, Matthews also awarded CHP-PSDA challenge coins to members who have dedicated 20 years or more of service as public safety dispatchers or public safety operators.

The California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) extends its gratitude to Matthews for the work he does at CHP-PSDA and CHP, and thanks it’s CHP-PSDA members for their service and commitment to public safety.
