SACRAMENTO – The CSLEA Consumer Protection & Public Safety (CPPS) Foundation Scholarship Committee is enthusiastically anticipating reviewing scholarship applications following the May 31 application postmark deadline.
To ensure a fair and impartial selection process, all qualifying applications are in the process of having identifying information redacted before being sent to scholarship committee members.
This year, 28 applications were received. Scholarships are funded entirely through donations to the non-profit CSLEA Consumer Protection & Public Safety Foundation. No union dues are used to fund the CSLEA scholarship program.
CSLEA anticipates announcing scholarship recipients and distributing awards by the end of August. The foundation plans to award eight scholarships of $1,000 each to deserving students.
“Thank you to everyone who submitted an application. We appreciate your participation and wish all applicants the very best,” said CSLEA Scholarship Committee Chair Dr. Kenneth Ehrman.
