As we move through the legislative session, CSLEA remains actively engaged in key policy discussions impacting law enforcement and public safety professionals. We are closely watching bill introductions, with close to 1,000 new measures already proposed and more than 1,000 still expected before the February 21 deadline.
We continue advocating for funding measures that support our members, including proposed budget allocations for increased staffing, enhanced training programs, and critical resources for first responders. Additionally, we are watching for bills related to workers’ compensation benefits, pension protections, and public safety reforms to ensure they fairly represent and protect the interests of our law enforcement community. CSLEA has been in direct communication with legislators and state agencies to address concerns over staffing shortages and recruitment challenges. We will continue to keep you updated.
