Jim Vitko is a graduate of Southwestern University School of Law and the University of New Haven, Connecticut.He has been a member of the California State Bar since 1998. In addition to his law degree, Mr. Vitko brings more than a quarter century of law enforcement experience to his position, which includes work as a peace officer with the California Highway Patrol, Medical Board of California and the California Department of Justice. Prior to joining our legal staff, Jim sat on the CSLEA Board of Directors as president of the Association of Special Agents (ASA-DOJ) and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the CSLEA Legal Defense Fund and Chairman of the Constitution Committee. Jim also served on the Board of Directors for the California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations (CCLEA), the Southern California Alliance of Law Enforcement (SCALE) and the California Peace Officers Memorial Foundation.He was proud to make the transition to the CSLEA Legal Division in 2009 and is currently assigned as Legal Counsel in the Southern Office.
