Prior to her employment at CSLEA, Ms. Harper-Gopaul worked at an AM 15 law firm, where she represented a large financial institution in consumer litigation matters. While at the AM 15 law firm, she was involved in the firm’s pro bono practice, which focused on representing individuals seeking asylum in the United States. Ms. Harper-Gopaul has obtained significant experience representing companies and public entities in all stages of litigation and arbitration. Her experience includes successfully arguing dispositive motions on behalf of public entities and public employees; and second chairing an arbitration on behalf of ridesharing company.
Ms. Harper-Gopaul received her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, with a minor in Public Policy, from the University of California- Santa Barbara. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Washington and Lee School of Law. While in law school, she was a student caseworker in the Advanced Administrative Litigation Clinic, where she represented coal miners and survivors in front of the Department of Labor.
Outside of work, Ms. Harper-Gopaul enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and listening to podcasts. She also maintains an active lifestyle by running and going to spinning classes.
