Marcus Nenn and the members of The Association of Deputy Commissioners (ADC) team up to protect millions of Californians from unscrupulous housing providers.
Deputy Commissioners and District Representatives make up the ADC, and its President, Marcus Nenn, has experience in both agencies. Deputy Commissioners for the California Department of Real Estate regulate the licensing and operations of more than 500,000 real estate professionals and review new subdivision developments throughout the state. District Representatives for the state’s Department of Housing and Community Development help consumers with manufactured home warranty issues and sale transactions, respond to permit and complaint issues at mobile home parks, assist consumers with the installation of modular buildings on real property, and regulate employee-housing facilities for seasonal and task-specific workers. All District Representatives are Code Enforcement Officers and some are trained peace officers who serve subpoenas, conduct civil and administrative investigations, and refer cases to the local district attorney.
Mr. Nenn grew up in San Diego and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from UCLA in 1992. After graduating from UCLA, he attended the University of Florida for four years, studying history and criminology.
Mr. Nenn returned home and started his career with the state as a Criminal Intelligence specialist for California Department of Justice in 1998. In 2001, he went to work as a Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Real Estate, working his way up to Senior Commissioner. In 2007, he transferred to the Department of Housing and took on his current assignment as a sworn peace officer and District Representative II.
Mr. Nenn makes his home in San Diego, where he pursues his passion of on- and off-road bicycling and motorcycling.
