TEMECULA- Congratulations to California Statewide Law Enforcement Association(CSLEA) and Association of Special Agents-DOJ (ASA-DOJ) Member Rosio Wagner, a DOJ Bureau of Gambling Control Special Agent, on receiving the California Financial Crimes Investigators Association’s (CFCIA) “Investigator of the Year” award.
Special Agent Wagner was presented with the award May 16, 2016, at CFCIA’s annual conference in Temecula. More than 100 local, state and federal law enforcement officers and banking executives were in attendance, along with DOJ representatives. Wagner received a check for $250. She also received flowers from her team in San Diego.
“You often work with hard working agents and wish their efforts could be recognized not only by their peers but by all,” said ASA-DOJ President Al Cardwood. “Well, it finally happened to a very deserving person. Special Agent Wagner is a model of perseverance and hard work. Congratulations!”
Each year, CFCIA awards one law enforcement and one civilian investigator with the Investigator of the Year award. Each of CFCIA’s five divisions selects nominees for consideration. The award recipients are chosen based on their investigative accomplishments in cases involving financial crime. Investigative pursuit, professional skills, dollar value, number of suspects and/or cases, recovery of checks, prosecution and conviction, and restitution are all criteria considered.
