NEWHALL - Fire victims who lost many important documents in the Sand Fire received some much needed assistance from numerous state agencies at a one-stop Los Angeles County Local Assistance Center in Newhall August 5-8, 2016.

"As a Department of Motor Vehicles investigator, I went to assist victims with DMV related questions, replacement documents such as driver licenses, registrations, and disabled person placards," said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 77 Vice President Kenny Ehrman.  "In addition to the DMV, FTB, CDI, EDD and CSLB were all there ready to help."

Investigators help victims with valuable information they will need as they recover and rebuild .  An emergency proclamation issued on July 26, 2016 authorized fee and/or penalty waivers for victims of the Sand Fire.  Victims were able to order, at no cost, replacement driver licenses, identification cards, vehicle registration and title, substitute license plates and stickers and disabled person placards.
