YUBA CITY – California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents posted a 15-day Notice of Suspension at the Corner Bar in Yuba City on November 2, 2017. The suspension is the result of a several-month investigation conducted by ABC agents and the Yuba City Police Department due to disorderly activities at the business.
From July of 2016 through May of 2017, police were called to the Corner Bar numerous times for incidents such as fights, assault with deadly weapon, public drunkenness and disturbing the peace.
Effective November 2nd, the business is prohibited from selling or serving alcoholic beverages for 15 days. Additionally, the license is placed on probation for one year.
“Business owners who sell and serve alcohol have a responsibility to maintain a safe atmosphere for employees, customers, and the surrounding community,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “ABC agents work with local law enforcement officers and independently to enforce ABC laws and keep the public safe.”
