SAN FRANCICO- On April 5, 2018, California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents posted a notice of indefinite suspension at La Oficina Bar on Mission Street in San Francisco.
The suspension is the result of a six-month investigation by undercover agents into illegal narcotics activity occurring at the premises. Additionally, the business was found to be refilling bottles of alcoholic beverages from alcohol purchased at other retail establishments.
“Going undercover into bars where illegal drugs are being bought and sold can be very dangerous,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “Any time the clientele is engaged in criminal activity, the agents’ safety is at risk.”
The ABC license has been ordered permanently revoked, however, the revocation will be stayed for a period of 180 days to allow the license to transfer to persons deemed acceptable by the Department. Relatives and members of the licensees’ immediate family and persons related to the licensee(s) by blood or marriage will not be considered as acceptable licensee applicants.
The license will remain suspended until the license is transferred or is permanently revoked.
