PORTERVILLE – On May 17, 2018, California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents posted a 25-day Notice of Suspension at the Sunshine Handy Mart in Porterville. The suspension follows an investigation in which undercover agents report purchasing drug paraphernalia from the licensee. The licensee would conceal glass pipes in food wrappers when sold to avoid detection. In addition, agents discovered pornographic material displayed in an unsegregated area inside the store.
“It’s important that licensees follow the law and act as good neighbors to nearby businesses and residents,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “ABC agents work to enforce the laws that protect and keep us safe.”
The Sunshine Handy Market is prohibited from selling alcohol for 25 days.
