ABC Posts 30-Day Suspension at Mundo’s Mexican Grill in Thousand Palms Agents purchased narcotics at the business on three separate occasions

THOUSAND PALMS- On November 27, 2019, the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) announced that ABC agents posted a Notice of Suspension Mundo’s Mexican Grill on Ramon Road in Thousand Palms. The license is suspended for 30 days with a revocation stayed for 180 days to allow for a license transfer, the suspension will remain in place until the transfer.

The suspension was a result of a narcotics investigation in which ABC agents purchased narcotics, specifically cocaine, directly from an officer of the corporation on three separate occasions.

“ABC agents work undercover year-round including nights and weekends to investigate illegal activity taking place at locations that sell alcoholic beverages,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.  “There are many more liquor stores, bars and restaurants than there are ABC agents, which means they have their work cut out for them.  Their goal is to keep our families and communities safe from harm and, in the game of prevention,  they do a great job.”
