MERCED COUNTY – On October 6, 2022, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the California Department of Justice, arrested Alberto Salgado for criminal conspiracy, accessory, and destroying evidence in connection to the kidnapping and murders of four Merced County family members. is the brother of Jesus Manuel Salgado who is suspected of kidnapping and killing Aroohi Dheri, Jasleen Kaur, Jasdeep Singh, and Amandeep Singh, and was arrested.

In addition to assisting with the arrests in this case, California DOJ personnel also spent hours processing a crime scene where the bodies of the four family members were discovered on October 5^th.  Merced County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Indiana Road and Hutchins Road in the Dos Palos Area for a report of a deceased person. Upon arrival deputies located the bodies of the four family members among the rows of an almond orchard. All four victims were kidnapped from their business in the 800 Block of South Highway 59 on October 3rd.
