KINGS COUNTY – On April 21, 2023, California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents and Kings County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a minor decoy operation within Kings County. The decoy, who was under the age of 21, attempted to buy alcohol at 17 ABC-licensed premises and was able to do so at just one business, Bravo Farms in Kettleman City. The employee at Bravo Farms was issued a citation for selling alcohol to a minor.
“We appreciate the clerks who check IDs and verify they are selling alcohol to someone 21 or older,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. “That simple act can save lives. We also appreciate ABC agents and their local law enforcement partners for conducting these operations. It works to keep ABC licensees in compliance and to educate clerks and their employers.”
