KINGS COUNTY – On September 29, 2023, a California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agent and Kings County Sheriff’s deputies posted an ABC 10-day license suspension notice at Pizza King, located at 10668 14th Avenue in Armona, according the KCSO.
On June 1, 2023, ABC agents and KCSO deputies conducted an operation in which they sent a person under the age of 21 into the location to attempt to purchase an alcoholic beverage. The person was able to purchase the alcohol and an employee was issued a citation for selling alcohol to a minor.
“Checking I-Ds is a simple task and can save lives in the community, not to mention it prevents penalties for the clerk or server and the employer. We thank the ABC agents and their local law enforcement officer-partners who work to identify those who sell or furnish alcohol to people under 21. This work contributes to the health and safety of our community members,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.
The 10-day license suspension was part of the administrative sanctions served against the ABC license holder.
The minor decoy operation conducted on June 1, 2023, was part of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Minor Decoy / Shoulder Tap Grant Project, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
