Drugs, Weapons, Ammunition Seized, Two Arrested
TULARE COUNTY – On February 29, 2024, the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gun Violence Enforcement Team (TARGET Task Force), with the assistance from California Department of Justice special agents, served two search warrants at a residence in the 700 block of North Elmwood Avenue in Lindsay and at an apartment in the 2900 block of West Caldwell Avenue in Visalia.
Seized during the searches were:
- one handgun,
- two rifles,
- two shotguns,
- four large capacity magazines,
- 22 standard capacity ammunition feeding devices,
- live ammunition,
- more than 200 grams of cocaine,
- as well as items and materials consistent with the sales of controlled substances.
According to the Visalia Police Department, arrested were:
- Angel Vasquez, 25, a convicted felon,
- Wendy Rodriguez, 24.
Vasquez was arrested for active warrants for possession for sales of controlled substances as well as a DUI. He was also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, possession for sales of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm with a controlled substance as well as child endangerment.
Rodriguez was booked on charges of possession for sales of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm with a controlled substance.
“Law enforcement officers work daily to protect us from harm despite the dangers they face doing so. We thank the California DOJ agents and local officers who conducted this operation which led to the seizure of illegally possessed weapons and controlled substances,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona.
