PISMO BEACH – On May 3, 2024, California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents partnered with Pismo Beach Police officers to conduct a shoulder tap operation to combat underage drinking.  While conducting the operation, agents and officers saw an intoxicated man get into his vehicle and drive away. Agents and officers quickly conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for DUl.

“Part of the purpose of a shoulder tap operation is to help reduce underage drinking and driving under the influence.   We very much appreciate the efforts of ABC agents and their local law enforcement partners to keep us safe out on the roads and in our communities,” said California Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA) President Alan Barcelona. 

Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs can have fatal consequences.
