“Licensees have a responsibility to be good neighbors and to follow the law. We appreciate the work that ABC agents do in investigating complaints and, through undercover work, identifying violations that threaten public safety.”
CSLEA President Alan Barcelona

HIGHLAND – On September 10, 2025, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) announced that ABC agents posted a 90-day suspension at Third Street Tavern located at 26998 3rd Street in Highland on Aug. 21st. Alcohol sales are prohibited and will not be allowed until the 90-day suspension has concluded.
ABC agents opened an investigation after receiving complaints of gambling taking place on the premises. ABC agents found that gambling, narcotics sales, employees working while intoxicated, and free giveaways tied to alcohol sales were taking place—all of which are violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act.
Additionally, if similar violations continue to occur at the premises at any time during the next three years, ABC has authority to revoke the license.
“ABC is committed to keeping communities safe,” said ABC Director Paul Tupy. “It’s integral that licensees follow the law because unlawful activity at ABC-licensed premises has a direct impact on community safety and the quality of life in neighborhoods.”
